How to surf: The Real Thing

Tired of hearing all the people complaining being blocked? All those people that are flying high but you can't figure out how? Tired of the people shooting you on maps you can't quite get to the guns? All those people telling you to surf better, but replying with useless things like practice? Well this is the place for you, I can't say I'll make you a perfect pro, but in most maps you'll easily get gun room, hit shortcuts, and be the one flying around the air.

But before you begin, you have to know some basic knowledge of surfing, so we can get on to the more advanced spots such as where to take off for height, for length, and something in between. When your on the left side of a surfing ramp, hold d while facing forward, remember not to hold W as this will make you fall. When on the right side of the ramp, hold the A key, again remembering not to hold W.

Now that we have covered basic ways to surf, let's get into our big boy pants and see the things that make the surfers fly. To begin with, when going down a ramp, you should always stay near the top, so when you hit that upturn, which might just make it straight, you can head down the ramp so as to keep your speed. Which brings us to smoothness, you can't surf like a jellybean, you must do smooth motions, fast turns can work only when your in the air, but on a ramp, a fast turn is suicidal especially on maps set to the regular settings (Requires 2+ to get out of jail or a push of a button outside of jail, single jump, normal accelerate settings). This may mean an accurate and deadly sniper rifle can kill you, but chances are lag on both sides added in with the fast speeds will make it nearly impossible.

!

The next thing that's important to cover is that switching sides should never happen when your on a ramp without and bumps. If you have to switch sides, which you rarely do, there will almost undoubtedly be a jump (a space lacking of ramp) for you to do this on, because it would interrupt your pattern and therefor your speed. Also, going on with the not switching ramps, you should never, I repeat never hold a large weapon like a Magnum Sniper Rifle while surfing, it does slow you down a noticeable amount.

Last but surely not least, where to jump when wanting hieght, speed, or both. If you want to have height off a ramp, shortly before you are going to get off, get to the bottom of the ramp, then shoot straight up as your trying to turn. This should give you some speed, and lots of height. If you want speed, get to the middle of the ramp, this is the easiest, build of speed, and stick to the middle. For a combination of both, get to the middle of the ramp, and go up, this will give speed, and height.
